The Bali Process on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime

Regional Support Office Structure

The RSO operates under the oversight and direction of the Bali Process Co-Chairs, the Governments of Australia and Indonesia and in consultation with UNHCR and IOM. Day to day operations are overseen by two RSO Co-Managers from the Australian and Indonesian Governments.

The RSO is an open structure welcoming assignments of government officials and other contributions from Bali Process member states.

New projects proposed by members will be considered by the RSO Co-Managers, in consultation with UNHCR, IOM and the Bali Process Steering Group, and under the oversight of the Bali Process Co-Chairs.

The RSO Co-Managers will report on a biannual basis to the Bali-Process Co-Chairs in consultation with UNHCR and IOM. The Co-Managers will also report to the Steering Group in session and the Ad-Hoc Group and full Bali Process membership at Senior Officials' Meetings and Ministerial Conferences.

The RSO, including activities, governance and outcomes, will be reviewed after 18 to 24 months in operation.
