The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Attorney-General’s Department held a series of events delivered by the Bali Process Working Group on Trafficking in Persons (WG-TIP) and Bali Process Taskforce on Planning and Preparedness (TFPP):

- 9 November 2023: Joint WG-TIP and TFPP side events, including a Policy Expert Gathering on Trafficking in Persons and Online Scams
- 10 November 2023: TFPP Seventh Annual Meeting.
The meetings brought together representatives from 15 WG-TIP members, observers, international organisations, civil society, the private sector, and regional fora. Participants shared national updates, explored opportunities for enhanced cooperation, and discussed emerging challenges such as online scam operations linked to trafficking.
Key themes included:
- Victim-centred approaches to detection, investigation, and prosecution
- Exploitation in supply chains and ways to improve transparency and accountability
- The role of technology in preventing trafficking and strengthening victim protection
- Sustainable return and reintegration of victims of trafficking
These discussions advanced implementation of the 2023 Adelaide Strategy for Cooperation and the WG-TIP Forward Work Plan 2021–23, while also shaping priorities for the 2024–26 plan. The events underscored the importance of regional partnerships, information sharing, and cross-sector collaboration to strengthen coordinated responses to trafficking in persons across the Asia-Pacific region.
