UNHCR-RSO Screening and Referral Toolkit Project – Welcome Session of National Experts

04 March 2021

The Regional Support Office of the Bali Process (RSO) is collaborating with UNHCR Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific on the Screening and Referral Toolkit Project. The project seeks to enhance border officials' capacity in managing the challenges arising from the mixed nature of contemporary movements of people who may have different vulnerabilities and need early protections.

Phase (I) of this project covers series of consultations with national experts on the development of a "communication and screening tool," whereas phase (II) covers pilot training on the use of the tool and schematic referral pathways.

In support of this initiative, the Bali Process Member States: Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, have officially nominated "Roster of National Experts" to guide the modeling of screening and referral toolkit.

The National Experts’ practical and professional experiences, and the time they have generously contributed to the project, will ensure that the toolkit is fit-for-purpose and addresses existing gaps in capacity.

RSO and UNHCR are grateful for the participation of the following members of the Roster of National Experts in the first welcome session of the series of consultations:
