RSO announces the release of a software App known as “UNHCR-RSO Screening and Referral Toolkit Mobile Application”

RSO is pleased to announce the release of a software App known as “UNHCR-RSO Screening and Referral Toolkit Mobile Application” and posters with instructions to download the App for free.

In 2021, RSO, in partnership with UNHCR Bureau for Asia and the Pacific, commenced “the Bali Process Screening and Referral Toolkit Project (“Toolkit Project”) with the support of national experts from Bali Process Member States: Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. This “Toolkit Project” and its output, "UNHCR-RSO Screening and Referral Toolkit Mobile Application," aim to achieve the goal of paragraph 5 of the 2016 Bali Process Ministerial Declaration on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime and to build the capacity of border officials in identifying persons with specific needs arriving at the border (e.g., victims of trafficking, asylum-seekers, unaccompanied children) and facilitating their referral to specialized services.

“The UNHCR-RSO Screening and Referral Toolkit Mobile Application” is now ready to use as a training tool or roll out in the field.

In this regard, RSO strongly encourages Bali Process Members to disseminate the release of the UNHCR-RSO Screening and Referral Toolkit Mobile Application and posters for download with relevant stakeholders, including agencies involved in border management.

RSO also invites Bali Process Member States to contact us at info@rso.baliprocess.net if you would like more information or are interested in participating in future training and piloting the UNHCR-RSO Screening and Referral Toolkit Mobile Application in the field.
