Practitioner Guide Series on Improving the Protection of Trafficking Victims

The Regional Support Office of the Bali Process (the RSO), in partnership with the NEXUS Institute, has published a series of Practitioner Guides to support the protection work of practitioners in the ASEAN Region and Bali Process Member States. Key topics addressed in this Practitioner Guide Series include:

  • Trafficking victim identification
  • Trafficking victim protection and support
  • Recovery and reintegration of trafficking victims
  • Special and additional measures for child trafficking victims

Each practitioner guide serves as a stand-alone and evidence-based resource and practical guidance to help practitioners better aware of key trends, issues, and challenges on victim protection and what they can do to improve them. The guidance and key features in the Practitioner Guide Series were extensively reviewed and validated by expert practitioners from six Bali Process Member States (Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam) through a consultative process before final publication.

The guides are user-friendly, with content presented in an accessible and visual format. They include notepads and mini exercises for practitioners and can be used as a workbook for training and capacity building.

The RSO and NEXUS Institute hope that the series will lend itself to the adaption and practical use of practitioners and policymakers tasked with improving practice and procedures in protecting trafficking victims.
