The Bali Process on People Smuggling, Trafficking in Persons and Related Transnational Crime

Technical Experts Working Group on Irregular Movements

The Ad Hoc Group Technical Experts Working Group on Irregular Movements provides the opportunity for members to share information on how to detect and deter irregular movements through borders and deal effectively with people smugglers by pursuing and prosecuting those involved in illegal activity.

Initially titled “Technical Experts Working Group on Irregular Movement by Air”, the Group’s scope was broadened in 2012 to include movements by land and sea.

In addition to Working Group meetings, workshops are held on specific issues of concern to the Membership.

The Regional Immigration Liaison Officer Network (RILON) is an initiative of this working group.
